Hi, my honey I are traveling to Rome next week. Can someone tell me if there are any. 99 cent stores there? If so, where are they located? Thank you in advanced.

I am usually there every week for work and have never seen a 99 cent store in Rome. There are so many tacky touristy things in kiosks out in the streets that perhaps you will find some treasures there?

Actually, we saw a "1 Euro" store somewhere in Italy, but I can't remember where. But here's a photo the poster says was taken in Rome.

Lol!!! I was doing some research and I saw something that said Rome had a chain of. 99 cent-type stores! It peaked my interest. I think it was called le store. However, I looked up le store and I couldn't find it. Now I know..... it is because it doesn't exist!!! Yes. We would like to buy inexpensive trinkets.

In Spain they are the Chinese run shops all over. Perhaps if you get way off the main drags you will find one. Don't expect any tourist "trinkets".. Mostly housewares, suitcases, small furniture, and crappy clothes.

There is a 1 Euro store in Venice, not far from Rialto. Well Venice being an expensive city, it might rather be 2 EURO or even 3. It does look chain style to me so I imagine there are such stores in Rome as well ( or maybe not ). Just curious but what are you looking to find in a store like that while in Italy? A souvenir shopping?

I've seen 1 euro or 99 cent stores in Italy, Belgium, Holland and Germany. I find them quite useful for cheap stuff you might need for a week or 2 and don't want to spend a lot of money on, especially items for an apartment. Soaps, paper goods, cheapo spices, widgets, towels, etc.

There is a "tutto .99" store in Florence, up against the back wall of San Lorenzo, around the corner from the regular market. It is somewhat behind an open space filled with parked motor bikes. If there is one in Bologna, it must be a chain.
