I fucking love bad movies and this right here is right up my alley. Bad puns, awkward silence, terrible acting, weird dream like sequences, background actors acting out of place, awful props, terrible set design, grade school script writing, etc. Its all here.

Again let's name off some of the events that happen in this movie:
-A cow suit, moved around by two teenage girls, disrupt a church's Christmas play.
-A dream scene involving tens of santas naming off everything wrong with the main character is the best roast session I've ever heard.
-A police officer points his gun towards Santa's head.
-3 people work at one police department.
    The name "Fredrico" exists.
-Jokes about alcoholism and homelessness are laughed…

Incompetent, weird editing, odd characters, awful puns, it barely makes sense, random flashbacks out of no where, and Santa, who everyone agrees is the actual Santa, even though he barely looks Santa-ish and isn't even wearing the uniform, people just walk in to the police station where he's being held and say "Hi Santa!". This movie is kinda nuts. And it's kind of enjoyable because of it. Don't go in expecting an actual movie and you'll be fine. Ok, maybe not.

"You know what, bring it on! I've got bigger problems than you. I've got Santa Claus to kill."

This would get half a star if not for that one line.

This is the most overtly Christian Christmas movie so far, and I find it fascinating that, for most of the movie, Santa is literally kept in a cage. He's there, but don't you get any ideas about him being our primary focus. Which is strange for a movie that was, at one point, called Small Town Santa.

Everything else here barely rises to the level of community theater. There's a nativity play going on at one point, where the kids are almost out-acting rest of the film's cast, until the teen Mary literally mugs at the camera.

And I guarantee that was the director's choice, not hers.

  • Review by Peter Spencer ★★★

Dean Cain in another Christmas film, this time playing a grumpy sheriff who hates Christmas, is visited by Santa (who is ot wearing his suit because he's not working) to help him rediscover his Christmas spirit. And along the way, Santa helps other residents with their own issues.

The best way to describe this film; the ratings of its performance...
    Camera angle/filming: 2.5
    Acting performance: 3
    Plot/storyline: 3.5
    Humor: 4
    Credit editing: 4
The message it was sending: 3.5

It might not be the best Christmas film, but it has a little charm, and it counts as a comfort film for a rainy Sunday afternoon (or snowy, depending on the weather).

  • Review by Trevor Snyder ★★★ 1

This movie is something like what would happen if Tommy Wiseau or James Nguyen made a Christmas movie. Okay, that's actually a little unfair, because Small Town Santa is MARGINALLY better made than stuff like The Room or Birdemic...but it is often just as funny. Those who know me well know I'm a pretty big fan of bad movies starring Dean Cain, but they're not all winners. You hope for good-bad, but often just get bad-bad. Thankfully, this one is one of the more entertaining I have encountered - its combination of extreme sincerity and somewhat inept storytelling is hilarious, even if that's not really what they were going for. Cain plays a small-town sheriff who has lost his Christmas…

The cop pulls a gun on Santa and his daughter wears a furry suit at the Nativity. This is some transcendent levels of terrible. Clueless, cheap copaganda. Middle Amerikkka misinformation. I hate my bitch ex-wife cinema.

  • Review by Movie Guy ★★★★

Directed by Joel Paul Reisig, one of the best bad directors, this hilarious Christmas comedy stars Dean Cain as a grumpy sheriff who hates Christmas. Everything changes when a man claiming to be Santa breaks into his home. This was delightfully terrible. I loved it. The dialogue is hilarious and the performances are over the top fun. If you enjoy good bad movies, then check out Small Town Santa on Tubi and be sure to check out Joel Paul Reisig's other films, especially Andy the Talking Hedgehog, Baby Bulldog, and Horse Camp: A Treasure Tail.

What the fuck is this. On YouTube it was called small town Santa and now its Holiday Miracle?

This is about Santa Claus infecting Dean Cains' dreams and trying to have sex with him.

    12 Days of Christmas Challenge
    Film #10
    A Dean Cain Christmas

Okay, so last year I watched A Dog For Christmas starring Dean Cain and written by Joel Paul Reising. The characters were unlikable, it felt sleazy, and there wasn't even a dog until the last minute or so. I figured I would give them another shot this year and see if they had it in them to make a decent movie.

And you know what? This is actually pretty good.

The characters are likable. It's actually funny on occasion. The lady cop steals the show.

Now, I will say, there's a clear sleaze factor here. The deputy played by the writer/director and there are several times where he very…

Dean Cain plays a cop and he pulls a gun on Santa.

Also, he has a dog named Max played by a stuffed animal, and occasionally a real dog named DUI.

If you have the misfortune to watch this, skip ahead to the nightmare scene where a group of Santas threaten Dean Cain.

  • Review by Rahul ½ 1

I had to watch this to fulfill some bet I lost a while back, oh how far Dean Cain has fallen. Awkward as hell acting, Santa was weirdly creepy, and you could see the camera crew in the reflection of windows and stuff multiple times! Heck, they even subbed in a real dog for a stuffed one and didn't even try to downplay it. It's certainly a bad movie but it's watchable in the sense that there's your usual sappy plot that ends up having some inspiring message. It equates to what a Hallmark movie would entail, but the production values felt even lower here. Best scene is the nightmare Santa sequence by far.
